Overview
In the 2012-2013 academic year, the OCF scholarship program:
-
Comprised 360 funds with more than $100 million in assets, each of which was set up by an individual, family, organization or business
-
Awarded approximately $7 million in scholarships to more than 2,300 Oregon students
The amount given out in OCF scholarships has tripled over the last four years, but the need has increased as well. Tuition is increasing across the board for Oregon’s four-year public universities. Many students graduate with debt exceeding $20,000. For low-income Oregon students, the net cost of attending college represents about half of their annual family income.
