The Penstemon Fund: Air Pollution Reduction Subfund
Priorities and Eligibility
Preference will be given to projects received from local nonprofits that have an annual operating budget not exceeding $100,000; and projects that demonstrate measureable reductions in air pollution and/or the deleterious impacts of air pollution on people or the environment.
Examples of potential expenses include:
Specialists or consultants to provide technical assistance
Advocacy campaigns (e.g., addressing industrial retrofits)
Equipment or materials that directly reduce air pollution
Tuition for staff to attend relevant training programs
Applicant organizations must be private, tax-exempt nonprofit organizations or public agencies providing services within Oregon or the southern Washington counties of Clark, Skamania, Klickitat, Yakima, Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, or Columbia.
The following organizations are not eligible to apply: Citizen’s Utility Board of Oregon, Columbia Riverkeeper, Friends of the Columbia Gorge, Hells Canyon Preservation Council, Northwest Energy Coalition, Northwest Environmental Defense Center, Oregon Environmental Council, Pacific Environmental Advocacy Center, Portland General Electric, Renewable Northwest Project, and the Sierra Club.
Applicants must use the application form to submit proposals. The completed application must be received at OCF via email or post by 5 p.m. on July 31. If this deadline falls on a weekend, the application is due at OCF by 5 p.m. on the previous Friday.
