The Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative supports parents in their critical role as children’s first and most important teachers by helping communities to expand access to proven programs and to build stronger, more coordinated parenting education services.
This cross-generational program supports efforts by early childhood care and education organizations to engage baby-boomer volunteers in activities that contribute to children’s readiness for school.
To foster school readiness and ensure greater consistency in childhood learning environments, OCF awards grants to public school districts that wish to explore strategies for creating an aligned P-3 (prenatal to grade 3) system in their communities.
This national, evidence-based program promotes child and family literacy during well-child checkups. With a grant from Ready to Learn, Oregon Pediatric Society (OPS) has launched a statewide Reach Out and Read initiative, with the goal of expanding the number of participating clinics and strengthening existing local programs.
