Arts Foundation of Western Oregon Fund: Lane County
The Arts Foundation of Western Oregon (AFWO) Fund was established in 1997 with the purpose of supporting the arts, sustaining artistic creativity and building a more vibrant local arts community in Lane County. Comprised of ten separate subfunds, AFWO has had a significant impact on visual and performing arts in the county.
Each fund has been created based on donor interests to support specific arts programs or to meet general needs.
Each year, AFWO distributes over $400,000 in funding, relying on Eugene-area volunteers to sit on grant committees, research proposals, and serve as liaisons to The Oregon Community Foundation board of directors, ensuring a community-based process.
