The Skyrman Techno Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation was established by Wally Skyrman to provide financial resources to science and industrial arts teachers (grades 4-12) and other youth program instructors in Jackson County.
The purpose of this fund is to support programs that engage students in innovative, hands-on, educational activities, giving students practical skills that enable them to use tools in order to do things for themselves.
Examples of programs of interest to this fund include: bike repair, cooking or sewing, robotics, home maintenance skills, gps navigation, agri-science, and other programs where something is engineered or constructed. Preference is given to extra-curricular activities, although classroom activities will be considered.
