Whipple Foundation Fund

The Whipple Foundation Fund was established in 2003 by Mildred Whipple to improve, facilitate and enhance lifelong learning for the citizens of Douglas County.

Grant Application Procedures
Applications are accepted year round in the form of a letter addressed to The Whipple Foundation Fund at the address below.  Please keep your letter to three pages or less and include the following information:

  • Mission of your organization
  • Detailed Project Narrative including activities, timetable, who and how many will benefit from the project.
  • Explain why the project is important for your organization and the community.
  • Show how collaboration with others in your community, if applicable, will strengthen, extend, or otherwise be a factor in this project.
  • Describe expected outcomes of the project and why its activities are expected to achieve these outcomes.
  • Present plans for evaluating the effectiveness of the project.
  • What other funding sources and amounts do you propose for this project? Please note which sources are secured.
  • Describe the future funding plan, if applicable, to sustain the project after the grant period.

Please include the following as attachments to the letter:   

  • Itemized budget for the project (one page)
  • Current fiscal year budget for your organization (one page)
  • List of board of directors and daytime telephone numbers
  • Most recent year end financial statement (audited or unaudited)
  • IRS determination letter of 501 (c) 3 status OR proof of status as a government entity.
