A scholarship likely exists for any Oregonian interested in higher education. There are scholarships earmarked for graduates from specific high schools and across an array of academic interests. Tuition assistance aids workers in fading industries who now seek retraining. Students can find scholarships to help them continue their education in almost any setting, public or private, in Oregon or out of state.
Underscoring all our scholarship programs is the belief that education is a tangible and long-term investment in the people shaping Oregon’s future. The state has a history of being one of the nation’s poorest performers in the areas of college affordability and financial aid for college students. OCF scholarships seek to mitigate this legacy and set a new path for Oregon.
Our Program
Our statewide scholarship program is one of the largest programs of its kind in the country. Annually our awards now total $5 million and reach 2,000 students. These scholarships originate from more than 300 separate funds at OCF established by individual donors and families, schools, civic organizations and employers.
Hundreds of individuals participate in selecting OCF's scholarship recipients. They volunteer their time to review scholarship applications and identify students who best fit each fund's goals. These Oregonians make OCF's scholarship program possible.
