The OCF Board of Directors creates the Gregory A. Chaillé Public Service Scholarship Fund

The OCF Board of Directors recently announced the creation of the Gregory A. Chaillé Public Service Scholarship Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation. The scholarship fund will provide graduate level scholarships to Oregon residents who are pursuing a career in public service. The selection of the recipients will be guided and inspired by the example of Chaillé, who through his leadership at OCF, improves life in Oregon.

Chaillé has been with the organization since 1980 and became president in 1987. As president, he is responsible for overseeing the $1.1 billion endowment, which is comprised of more than 1,600 permanent funds.

The board also announced the first recipient of the $5,000 scholarship. Johnell Bell, who is currently enrolled in the Executive Masters of Public Administration Program at Portland State University, was awarded the scholarship based on his demonstration of strong leadership, character and hard work.
