Coos Bay, OR – The Kiwanis Club of Coos Bay Scholarship Fund and the F. Willis Smith Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation are awarding six $1,000.00 scholarships this year to Coos County High School graduates, and four $1,000.00 scholarships to Coos County students who are continuing their college education.
These scholarships funds are invested and managed by The Oregon Community Foundation, with the annual selection of scholarship recipients being made by a committee of Coos Bay Kiwanis and local volunteers. Committee members are Merton Greif, Jennifer Groth, John Lemos, Roger Craddock and David Westcott.
The Coos Bay Kiwanis Scholarship awards are open to all Coos County graduating students. One of the primary factors in selecting recipients is their active engagement in community service throughout their high school experience.
