RAI Grants in Southern Oregon
The Southern Oregon Leadership Council has awarded a total of $489,619 in grants to five nonprofit organizations that work to strengthen mentoring programs in the region:
- Citizens for Safe Schools, Klamath Falls received $51,815 in Year 1, and $50,000 in Year 2, to support the Kids in the Middle mentoring program.
- Grants Pass Family YMCA (College Dreams) received $50,000 in Years 1 and 2 to support the Guiding Lights Mentoring Program, which provides school- and community-based mentoring.
- Kids Unlimited of Medford received $50,000 in Years 1 and 2 to implement Proyecto Educator, a holistic mentoring system for Latino youth at risk of dropping out of school.
- Lake County Education Service District, Lakeview received $50,000 in Years 1 and 2 to implement a youth mentoring program and establish a .5 FTE coordinator position.
- Southern Oregon Adolescent Study and Treatment Center, Grants Pass received $43,502 in Year 1, and $44,302 in Year 2. These funds support the School Community Team Mentorship Project, which is engaging and training a cohort of volunteers to mentor students in eight schools.
