Patricia Delgado, Salem

“The gift of education is something that no one can take away from you...ever.”

Originally from Columbia, Patricia Delgado worked hard to get the education she knew she needed to succeed in the U.S.  Patricia established a testamentary college scholarship fund at OCF for girls of Columbian descent. “I have been very blessed, but I worked hard to get my education and to succeed. People see you and don’t see what you did and the sacrifices you made to get there. I believe that it is vital to teach children to be responsible and generous with others, and part of that, in my mind, is by providing opportunities for a good education. Once you have learned something it becomes part of who you are.”

“All of us are responsible for giving back if we can. The gift of education is my way of passing on something to others, forever,” added Delgado.
