DONORS: Take Action
Generosity creates hope and addresses needs.
For our current donors, consider these ways to extend your support to your community:
- Review your annual giving: Determine if helping more now – when needs are great – is an option.
- Focus on essential needs: Requests for food, clothing, housing, and healthcare are increasing dramatically. Let us help you find the best places to give.
- Volunteer your time and talent. Check your favorite charity to see if they have a spot for your or go to oregoninvolved.
- Revisit your estate plans: Give back to the community through your estate plan. Contact us about leaving a legacy for your favorite cause(s).
For new donors, consider contributing to an Investor Pooled Fund: Experience how small gifts can have a big impact by adding your gift to those of others through our Administrative Fund, Community 101 Fund, the Oregon Fund, the Oregon Scholarship Fund, or Ready to Learn Fund. Or contact a charitable gift planner to discuss setting up your own fund at OCF.

Don't Throw Away Your Tax-Exempt Status
Beginning in 2007, small tax-exempt organizations have a new filing requirement. It’s short, easy and electronic – it’s the new e-Postcard.
If you are a tax-exempt organization that normally has annual gross receipts of $25,000 or less and does not have to file Form 990 or 990-EZ, you must file the e-Postcard. The e-Postcard is due by the 15th day of the fifth month after the close of your tax year. So if your organization operates on a calendar year, the e-Postcard is due by May 15 of the following year.
What happens if you don’t file? You risk losing your tax-exempt status!
If you think this new filing requirement may apply to your organization, go to epostcard.form990.org to file an e-Postcard. Another great resource from the IRS is www.stayexempt.org.
