The BottleDrop Fund

The BottleDrop Fund was established at The Oregon Community Foundation in 2018 by the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC). OBRC is a not-for-profit cooperative of private beverage distributors that implements Oregon's bottle deposit and redemption program. OBRC operates this program at a lower cost per container than any other redemption system in North America. See below for more details!

History and Purpose

The BottleDrop Fund was created to further the goals of Oregon’s innovative BottleBill: to keep Oregon beautiful through innovative programs. Any year in which the container redemption rate drops below 80%, the target set by the Oregon Legislature, OBRC will invest the unredeemed deposits not required to operate the system into the BottleDrop Fund at The Oregon Community Foundation.
