The Oregon Community Foundation sponsored the OPB donor event the evening before the taping of OPB’s Antiques Roadshow at the Lane Event Center on June 4th. As part of the sponsorship, twenty OCF guests had their prized possessions appraised on-site.
In each Roadshow episode, specialists from the country’s leading auction houses and independent dealers offer free appraisals of antiques and collectibles. From family heirlooms to yard sale bargains, experts reveal fascinating truths about these finds. Now in its 16th season, Antiques Roadshow is OPB’s highest-rated series.
The highlight of the Eugene event was the discovery of one of the most valuable treasures in the program’s history: a Norman Rockwell painting valued at $500,000.
Antiques Roadshow will produce three hours of broadcast material from the Eugene stop that will air in the 2012 season.
