On August 9th and 10th, OCF hosted a gathering for our volunteer Leadership Council members and board of directors. The evening of the 9th was topped off by a community reception on the OSU campus. OCF President and CEO Max Williams offered these reflections about the two days:
"Last week was OCF’s Statewide Leader’s Gathering in Corvallis, attended by representatives from all eight of our regions. It was a great chance to get together and discuss important issues for Oregon and OCF. Our overarching theme was “innovation” and how important innovation is regardless of whether we are talking about Oregon’s business climate, the nonprofit community or the Foundation’s future.
"Familiar themes throughout the two days were the positive outcomes we are seeing from OCF’s investment in our strategic areas of children and families, education, and jobs and the economy. We also had the chance to talk more deeply about OCF, how it operates and serves both donors and communities.
"We celebrated the successes of the Regional Action Initiative and sought input about how we maintain the energy of the RAI in the future. Most importantly, we got to hear leaders across Oregon share with us their thoughts about how OCF can improve its impact and strengthen partnerships with their communities. In the end, we were honored by such dedicated and committed OCF volunteers taking the time to be with us and help us think about what innovation means to OCF."
