On May 11, Governor John Kitzhaber signed a proclamation announcing that May 20-26, 2012, is Parenting Education Awareness Week in Oregon. All week long, OCF will highlight activities happening across the state to celebrate parents and their role as a child’s first teacher.
We invite you to “like” OCF’s Facebook page, or follow TheOregonCF on Twitter, to get helpful tips for parents (and anyone in contact with children), links to watch live streaming lectures for Oregon Parenting Education Week, and information about the Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative, OCF’s investment in parenting education.
Events will be streamed live throughout the week, and will include:
Monday, May 21, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Making the Link Between Parenting and Policy: Understanding the Impact of Parenting on Early Childhood Outcomes, Rebecca Parlakian, M.S. (Zero to Three, Washington D.C.)

Friday, May 25 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.: Measuring and Predicting Healthy Development in Young Children, Megan McClelland, Ph.D. (Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR)
