Professional Advisor Wade Bell Helps Clients Connect to Their Communities

8/1/2013 Press Release

Whether running a sub-4-minute mile or advising a client on charitable donations, former University of Oregon track star and CPA Wade Bell has always focused on the most efficient way to get from point A to point B. Bell’s relationship with OCF began when his former coach and Nike co-founder, Bill Bowerman, came to him for help setting up a private foundation. “I was the treasurer and the accountant for it,” said Bell. “We did a lot of reporting under the Internal Revenue Service Code. It seemed to me like a lot of work. Somebody suggested we contact The Oregon Community Foundation, which we ultimately did and found that so much easier, less expensive and less time-consuming.”

Bell found that OCF was an excellent organization to work with. “It was local; they were efficient and extremely personable and willing to help us accomplish our goals. As an accountant I have suggested OCF to numerous clients. I see its advantages and how it can help people further their charitable participation.”

Bell is proud of Eugene’s philanthropic community. He said, “We have a number of individuals and families from different businesses and professions who have actively been involved in the Eugene community. They’ve been willing to share their time and means to improve the city. They’ve helped finance various education projects at the University of Oregon, Northwest Christian University and Lane Community College. The philanthropic community has helped culture, arts, social causes and humanitarian services.”
