West Albany High School Students Share Their Community 101 Experience

3/22/2013 Press Release

Sarah and Savannah were excited — and a bit nervous — to talk about their Community 101 experience with OCF’s Southern Willamette Valley Leadership Council. This year, West Albany High School's Community 101 is to “support Fine Arts opportunities for young people" because "we believe that creative opportunities will contribute to the development of quality character.”

The students wowed the volunteers with their maturity and their insight into nonprofits and their community. Sarah stated that Community 101 has expanded her knowledge about nonprofits and as a teenager, it’s also helped her look outside herself to help others.
